Infinix Note 2: Simple Review & Price in Nigeria Right Now

The much-awaited upgrade to the very successful Infinix Hot Note is the new Infinix Note 2.

Infinix Note 2

Launched in November of 2015, this new device totally breaks away from the shadows of its predecessor in every way except, of course, the battery capacity.

Read along as I walk you through the awesome specifications (yes believe me) of the Infinix Note 2.

Infinix Note 2 Specifications

Infinix Note 2: Form Factor & Build

Everything, I mean every single thing about the note 2 (in terms of build and design) is different (in a good kind of way) from its predecessor – the Hot Note.

Infinix totally redesigned the looks of the Note 2 and gave it a more appealing look albeit a larger device.

At 6” some users might find it difficult to fully grasp the device but Infinix tried to cushion that effect by extremely reducing the bezels of the device. Till date, Infinix Note 2 has the highest screen to body ratio among devices released by the Infinix team.

Getting rid of the touch buttons on the Hot Note, Infinix opted for on-screen nav buttons for this device (Menu, Home, and Back).

At the top of the device sits a selfie camera and a sensor. At the back, the primary camera and its appended LED flash are seated at the center of the upper part of the device.

Directly under the camera is the Infinix wordmark, and at the tail end of the back of the device is an inscription – “Note”

Infinix Note 2: Display

As stated above, the device’s display is pretty huge. In fact, it’s not a Smartphone anymore, ‘cos at 6”, this thing is a Phablet.

I was the hoping the resolution of this device would be 1080p considering the display size, but it turns out it’s a 720p device meaning a pixel density of 245 (e use style low sha).

Type IPS display
Resolution 720 x 1280 pixels (245ppi)
Protection unconfirmed

Infinix Note 2: Camera

There’s nothing to scream for in the Note 2’s primary camera. At 13 million pixels, Images captured with the Note 2’s camera is not perfect, but actually very good (yeah, above average). The selfie camera is a 2MP shooter.

Features 5p lens f/2.0 aperture
Secondary MP count 2MP

Features 3p lens f/2.2 aperture

Infinix Note 2: Processor

For this device, Infinix made use of MediaTek’s MT6753 Soc.

MT6753 is an Octa-Core 64-bit Chipset based on ARM’s Cortex A-53 processor. Having processing speeds between 1.3GHz – 1.5GHz, Infinix clocked it a 1.3GHz for the Note 2.

For processing graphics, the note 2 (thanks to the Soc) uses the Mali-T720 GPU.

Obviously, the Infinix note would be a beast in terms of processing power. Playing HD games should not be an issue (although it would take a toll on your battery 😛 )

Some other devices making use of the chip include: Lenovo K4 Note, Ulefone Power, InnJoo 2, and Meizu M2 Note, to mention a few.

Infinix Note 2: Memory

The Note 2 (like the Hot 2) comes in two variants: one having 1GB RAM and the other 2GB. However, both devices have an equal amount of internal memory: 16GB. This 16GB can still be extended by means of a microSD card as a slot is available for it.

Infinix Note 2: Battery

Much like its power beast of a predecessor, the Note 2 feature a 4000mAh Li-Ion battery. On their official web page, Infinix claims that the Note 2 a device with 2 days battery life.

The device also comes with a fast charge capability, and Infinix claims just a 15min charge equates 8 hours of phone calls.

You can also the note 2 as a power bank to charge other devices as it supports OTG and hence, reverse charging.

Battery

Capacity 4000 mAh (Li-Po battery)

Infinix Note 2: Price

This is often the “shadiest” part of most devices, but the Note 2 is nicely priced if you ask me (considering the staggering price of the naira against the dollar recently).

Although the price of the Infinix Note 2 in Nigeria has been fluctuating over the past weeks, the 1GB version costs between ₦35k and ₦41k while the 2GB version retails for between ₦41k – ₦50k (see buttons below).
