Software, Design, Display
Both devices are single nano SIM devices with support for LTE across all Nigerian bands running on Apple’s mobile operating system — iOS 10.
Knowing Apple, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will both receive software and security updates till at least 2020.
Both devices’ exteriors are made of Aluminium and are available in an array of colors.
Similarities (design-wise) stop there though as the iPhone 7 sports 4.7-inch IPS LED-backlit LCD Touch display having a 750 by 1334 pixel resolution (326 PPI) while the 7 Plus features a 5.5-inch display (LED-backlit IPS as well) with a 1080 by 1920 pixel resolution (401 PPI).
Both displays have an oleophobic coating and Ion-strengthen glasses.
Still on their build, they are both dust and water resistant (IP67 rated).
Performance, Hardware, Cameras
Under the cute-looking hoods of both devices sits a new iteration Apple’s proprietary SoC — Apple A10 Fusion.
The A10 fusion is a Quad-core SoC clocked at 2.34GHz for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus supported by a PowerVR 7XT Plus GPU for handling graphics processing.
Memory-wise, the 7 features 2 gigabytes of RAM while 3GB is present on the 7 plus. For storage, both devices are available as either 32GB, 128GB or 256GB devices.
The rear cameras on both devices significantly vary.
This is due to the fact that the 7 Plus features a dual 12-megapixel camera set up while the 7 has just one 12-megapixel lens.
The dual setup on the 7 Plus features one f/1.8 12-megapixel lens with optical image stabilization and another f/2.8 12-megapixel ‘telephoto lens’ (no OIS here).
The 7’s one 12 MP lens has an f/1.8 aperture and is optically stabilized.
Both devices have a quad-LED flashlight and are capable of shooting 4k videos at 30 frames per second.
Worthy of note is the fact that the iPhone 7 (and 7 Plus) do not have the 3.5mm headphone jack.
For security, Touch ID (fingerprint recognition on home button) is present, and oh, the home button is no longer a button per se.
