Apparently, Tecno Mobile is on the loose. While I am still trying to wrap my head around the recently released Tecno W4, a new device shows up from nowhere: Tecno L8!
If you are familiar with the devices in the L series of Tecno smartphones, you would know that they are the company’s response to Gionee’s Marathon Line Up. – They are “demons” in the battery compartment.
Much like the L5 which I recommend as one of the top smartphones under 30k right now, the L8 has a really large battery; one that could potentially last days depending on your usage frequency.
One last thing before we dive properly into the tech specs of the device; something about this smartphone’s back design makes me think about the Gionee M5 mini.

Tecno L8: Price
The image above has done all the typing already – need I say more?
Okay, one more thing about the price:
The image above depicts a particular vendor’s price on the Jumia marketplace. This, I’m sure, is not the recommended retail price of the device. Let’s just wait for more sellers to list the product on sale, a more articulate price would be revealed (I think).
For now, It’ll be safe to say the Tecno L8 sells for between ₦29,000 – ₦35,000.

Specs Summary:
It’s obvious that Tecno started working on this device before the recently announced Tecno W4.
Yeah.
What other logical reason could there be for ignoring Android’s latest Flavor? – It’s even now obsolete as a dev preview of the Android N already available.
Apart from the strange choice of OS version, another thing shoppers might not take likely is the 1GB RAM that ships with the device but when you put the price range of the device into consideration, it’s reasonable.
Apart from those two above which seems to be the “flaws” of the device, the Tecno L8 is a very capable device.
Although no word is out on the chipset employed for this yet, we know that it is a quad-core processor.
The device with a display size of 5.5” is going to be huge and heavy too when you consider the bomb that was deposited at the back of the device.
The camera compartment is very typical. It’s nothing you’ve not seen or heard of before – An 8MP back shooter coupled with a 2MP selfie camera.
This post will be duly updated when I get word on the pricing and availability in Nigeria.
As earlier pointed out in this post, the Tecno L8 is available for purchase from online stores.
