Software, Design, Display
Running on Android’s Nougat flavor, albeit skinned (MIUI), out of the box, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is a dual SIM LTE-enabled smartphone.
Design-wise, the Note 3 is a sturdily built all metal device having a thickness of fewer than 0.8 centimeters available in just two color options — black or blue.
The Note’s display is a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen having a 1080 by 1920 pixel resolution with a resulting pixel density of about 401 pixels per inch (401 PPI).
Performance, Hardware, Cameras
Under its hood sits an Octa-core Qualcomm SoC — Snapdragon 660 — having two quad-core clusters (cluster 1 clocked at 2.2 GHz and 2 at 1.8 GHz) and supported by the Adreno 512 GPU for pushing graphics.
Memory-wise, there exists two different configurations for the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 VIZ:
- 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, and
- 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM
The onboard storage of both versions cannot be expanded by means of a microSD card.
The Mi Note 3 features a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter having aperture width of f/2.0 and supports shooting 1080p videos.
At the back of the device sits a dual camera setup featuring two 12-megapixel lenses each having varying aperture openings (f/1.8 and f/2.6 respectively). The f/1.8 12 MP lens features Optical Image Stabilization (4-axis) and thanks to the presence of two lenses, the device supports 2x Optical Zoom.
Other features of the cameras include Phase Detection Autofocus, the ability to shoot 4k videos at a frame rate of 30 frames per second (30fps), and a supporting dual-tone dual-LED flash.
For security, the device has a fingerprint sensor in front, on its home button, and finally, the battery that ships with it is a non-removable 3500 mAh Li-Ion battery which can be juiced up pretty fast thanks to the support for Quickcharge 3.0.
And psst! No headphone jack!
